My Sister's Wedding

Here are those pictures from my sister's wedding I promised to post a few months ago.

Enjoy.

My best friend, Bree, and I taking pictures while waiting for the "party bus" to pick us up.

I love the makeup I wore that day.

My sister and my mom. This picture of them is so sweet.

My sister and her gorgeous dress. She and my mother made the veil.

The family cat, Toby, looking freaked out by the cameras. Poor kitty.

My brother walking my sister down the aisle. I miss him so much.. (RIP)

My brother-in-law seeing his soon-to-be wife.

The church.

This reminds me of the Bridesmaids movie cover, haha.

The guys being silly.

Group shot of the girls.

I swear this was not planned. Waldo was downtown as part of a school's orientation game.

My hubby and I.

With my brother and sister. We were being heckled.

The reception site (picture taken later at night)

The placecards.

Picture of one of the tables. Everything was put together by the bridal party. There are mini patron bottles, candles, flowers, and mini satchels filled with Colombian coffee.

Custom made cake topper. How cute is that?!

...which wouldn't have been complete without miniature cats, Toby and Iris (deceased), and the dog, Munchies.

The cake....was fake! Except for a small piece in the back for cutting. This was handmade by my father and sister.

We even put those straws together by hand. They each had little sayings on the cards.

The dessert...

Did I mention the food was amazing?

Here's an action shot of me giving my speech and the newlyweds actually enjoying it! Job accomplished.

The sweethearts at the sweetheart table.

The infamous dollar dance.

I had no idea, as we were rushing around the bride and groom, that my mom and I had passed each other.

Some silly shots in the photobooth.

NOTD - Chocolate Covered Strawberry Nails

To celebrate unofficial Chocolate Celebration month, I decided to paint my nails. I followed a tutorial {here} from Andrea's Choice: Chocolate covered strawberry nails! Because I have no brown polish, I created my own shade using green, red, and black. I re-took these pictures after work (the first round was a bit too blurry, sorry!), so there is a bit of chipping already. Sorry for that!

Hope you enjoy and hope this gives you some nailspiration!

What I used:
Essie Base Coat
Essie Top Coat
Sinful Colors "Snow Me White"
Sinful Colors "Innocent" + Nailtini "Bloody Mary" + Wet n Wild "Ebony Hates Chris"

I think that the mixture of brown I used made it difficult to swirl the color onto my nails. It dried much too quickly after it got tacky and it was a lot thinner than it should have for this project. I would LOVE to try this again, but with an actual brown polish this time!

Would you try out this nail? Show me some pictures, if you do!

FOTD - Rainforest Eyes

This look was inspired by my current t-shirt (which my husband is super excited about). It's a grey muscle shirt covered in leopards. I think it's hilariously awesome. Have you noticed I'm a bit of a cat lady?

When I think of leopards, I think of lush green plants, their paws softly hitting patches of dirt as they run. I wanted to create a look similar to my favorite Mossy Green look, but with a redish twist. I wish these pictures had come out better, so you could see how much more intense this one is. I guess that's what I get for taking pictures at night!

Hope you enjoy this look as much as I do!

Maybelline Lip Haul

Hello fellow makeup lovers! Today, I thought I'd share a few Maybelline lipsticks I recently picked up.

Hooked on Pink from the permanent collection & Vibrant Mandarin from the new Sensational Vivids collection.

Hooked on Pink, Vibrant Mandarin

Vibrant Mandarin

I think the main reason I wanted a shade from the new Sensational Vivids collection is because I wanted to see if they were truly as bright and pigmented as they look from swatches on line.

Vibrant Mandarin sure packs an tangerine-red punch to the lips. I'm glad it's not an all-out orange, but also contains a reddish tinge to it. I feel that makes it a bit more wearable.

If you're not a fan of funky bright colors or have been looking for a flattering orange toned lip, this may be the one for you.

I wanted to add that this lipstick was packaged with the wrong cap! I didn't notice until I'd left the store.

Hooked on Pink

I swear, I debated getting this shade for a good 15 minutes in store aisle. It's hard to find a pink that works for my skin tone. Before you know it, you're in plum territory and no longer looking at pinks. I'm glad I decided to just go with this shade, because it's surprisingly flattering.

This pink is not too light or frosty. Best of all, it is PINK! and not too plummy.

Vibrant Mandarin, Hooked on Pink

Price: $6-8
Where to buy: Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, ULTA, Target

Does the scent a lipstick has bother you? Or is the color more important?
